As Managing Partner of Kumo Title, Dan sets the firm’s direction and the standard for how transactions are handled. His approach centers on preparation, direct communication, practical problem solving, and relationships built to last beyond a single closing.
Dan’s perspective is shaped by the realities of real estate: deadlines shift, details matter, and every participant needs reliable information. He works to create a closing process where issues are identified early, accountability is clear, and the path forward stays visible.
At Kumo Title, that means combining disciplined coordination with personal ownership—so clients and professional partners always know who is guiding the work and what happens next.

Dan has poured his passion into redevelopment projects across Texas, Colorado, New York, and Florida. That experience gives him a practical understanding of a property’s full life cycle—from evaluating potential and managing complexity to protecting the details that make a transaction successful.

Global discipline
Business leadership shaped at IBM.
Before concentrating on real estate, Dan spent 40 years at IBM. His career took him around the world, including time in China, and developed the operational discipline, cross-cultural perspective, and commitment to execution he brings to Kumo Title.
After retiring from IBM, Dan focused more fully on homebuilding and redevelopment. That combination of institutional business experience and direct property work now informs how he evaluates risk, communicates with stakeholders, and leads a service organization.
Texas roots
A family man with a multigenerational connection to the state.
A sixth-generation Texan, Dan spent meaningful time in Paducah learning the particulars of rural ranch and land development. His father played football at SMU, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, and is honored in the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame. Dan chose business as his own arena, carrying forward the same values of preparation, resilience, and teamwork.
Dan is deeply committed to family. He and his wife, Mary, have two children, Amber and Matt. In 2022, he joined his daughter Amber in launching Kumo Title—bringing together their complementary experience in business, law, and real estate.
