Why Kumo invests

The future is built by people who know how to make things work.

Every home, office, development, and closing depends on skilled people—electricians, technicians, builders, healthcare professionals, mechanics, operators, and problem-solvers whose expertise keeps communities moving.

Kumo Title sees scholarship funding as an extension of our responsibility to the places we serve. By helping motivated students gain practical, high-demand skills, we invest in stronger families, more capable local businesses, and a deeper workforce for Austin and Texas.

An annual promise

Kumo Title will fund SOAR Skills scholarships each year.

Our commitment is ongoing, not a one-time campaign. Scholarship awards are administered through SOAR’s established program and official application process.

About the program

A practical path from ambition to a durable career.

SOAR Skills is a scholarship track created through LOAR PLLC, Kumo’s sister company, as part of the broader SOAR Texas mission. It supports early-career students pursuing their first primary trade, technical skill, certification, apprenticeship, or applied career pathway.

More than tuition

Support designed around the whole career journey.

Training support

Eligible scholarship funding may be applied directly to approved training providers for tuition, required materials, and program-based certification fees.

Mentorship & guidance

The broader SOAR community connects scholars with encouragement, professional development, networking, and help navigating important career decisions.

Entrepreneurial possibility

Mastering a practical skill can create a path to leadership, independent work, and business ownership—not simply a first job.

Eligible pathways

Many ways to build a meaningful future.

SOAR Skills considers a broad range of legitimate training programs that lead toward employment. Examples include:

Construction & building

Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, welding, masonry, and heavy equipment.

Healthcare & medical

Nursing and clinical support, dental hygiene, medical assisting, phlebotomy, surgical technology, and emergency medical training.

Technology & infrastructure

Cybersecurity, network administration, IT support, cloud systems, and data-center technology.

Transportation & industry

Automotive and diesel technology, aviation maintenance, commercial driving, CNC, industrial maintenance, robotics, and quality systems.

“Whether someone is headed to a university or building expertise in a skilled trade, we want them to feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.”

— Amber Russell, founder of LOAR PLLC and the SOAR Scholarship Foundation
